To serve God and serve Him effectively requires fervency of spirit.
1) The loss of passion or commitment or dedication to God and His work is the beginning of vulnerability to the enemy. Whenever the enemy is sucking away your dedication to God he is exposing you to destruction - Mathew 13:22. Don't be carried away by the cares of this world and deceitfulness of riches. Has your passion to pray, evangelize, study the word gone? If yes, it is a state of emergency. The state and events of life were programmed to fight against the spiritual growth of God's children. Isaiah 59:19 - Never abandon or abdicate attention to your spirituality, for it is the spirit of God that raises a standard against the devil when he comes like a flood. Anything not attended to begins to depreciate; has no future.
a. James 4:4 - Commitment to things of the world can never marry dedication to God. They are two parallel lines. Know that wealth and riches are there as tools.
b. Where you invest most of our time determines where you get the most results.
c. What commands our attention determines what gives our life direction.
2) The degree of our yielded-ness to God determines the extent of our usefulness to Him - Romans 12:1-2. Until the mind is continually renewed the destiny cannot express goodness. God is willing to use you if you will yield yourself. That vessels are available does not mean that all are useful. Note that no organization showcases it's wrong candidate. If you need God to use you extravagantly dedicate yourself completely.
3) The systems of the word are positioned to resist a believer's spiritual progress - Luke 9:57-62. The cares of life are major distracting issues in one's spiritual progress. Never allow any man's conviction distract you from the service of God. There appears an onslaught from hell to destroy our spiritual life. Don't compromise because everyone does. Stand for God. Anything you compromise to get is not yours, for you will need to compromise to keep it. Distracting issues are meant to arrest your attention and detain your destiny.
What are the enemies of dedication?
1. An unconscious forgetfulness of our spiritual root.
2. Unusual busyness with the physical affairs of life. It is not wisdom to mortgage what is eternal for what is temporal. People are being damned to hell on account of compromise - 1 John 2:15-16. Nothing should take the place of God in your life. Never do anything to impress anybody. Live your life and size per time, for life is in phases and sizes.
