I have not been a fan of this man or his pattern of ministry based on personal conviction. No one has the right to judge another since we all are answerable to God. But for daring to stick his neck for the Christians in Nigeria at a time like this #Istandwithhim. This is not a time to think about what you believe or represent but to stand and defend the body of Christ. Many are ignorant of the overall plan for which the ground is being tested with southern Kaduna. The Bible says woe unto those who are at ease in Zion. If this devil is not collectively challenged now, other church leaders may be their next target. The Bible enjoined us to resist the devil who comes as a roaring lion seeking whom to devour and he will flee from you.
If you have ever witnessed your pregnant wife, mother or sister killed and the foetus ripped and dismembered, you will stand up to speak. If you have seen a two or three year old child of yours hacked down and dismembered, you will rise up and shout. A woman was killed in Abuja for preaching and the culprits were not found guilty. A woman was beheaded in Kano, her killers were discharged and acquited. Countless Christian communities are being systematically decimated without an arrest. People in rural villages are afraid of going to their farms for fear of being killed and their wives and daughters raped and we are still watching. Nigeria belongs to all. People promised to make this nation ungovernable when a Christian presided over this nation, no one asked them questions because we want peace. Someone promised to soak the dogs and the baboons with blood, no one asked him any question because we want peace. Someone promised that violent change will be inevitable where he is not allowed to rule, nobody invited him for questioning because we want peace. Someone publicly said he used public funds to pay some killers and no one invited him for questioning because we want peace. A sheilk once boasted publicly that a Christian will never be the President of Nigeria, no-one asked any question because we want peace. I weep for the spiritual and political myopism of professing Christians in Nigeria. While we busy ourselves with seeking for breakthrough and prophecy, the enemy is strategising, working and advancing. There are times you fight to maintain peace where negotiations failed. That is why you have peace keeping force in every region. Fear and anything or anyone who sponsors it is of the devil. My children must be free to practice Christianity without fear of being intimidated or killed. If our fathers had stood up to this evil, we won't have it today. This is not a call for violence or vengeance but a wake up call for the sake of the Nigerian church. God forbid that we leave this evil for the next generation. #Istandwithhim.

THE PATHWAY TO GREATNESS

SCRIPTURE: Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 1 Peter 5:6. NIV

 

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God only raises the humble and humbles the proud.

 

It has been confirmed that our God is a Raiser and not a user of men (1 Samuel 2:8). He raises the poor ones from the dust and sets them in high positions of life. There are many people in the Bible that God raised; men like Abraham, David, Daniel, Esther are typical example of people who were raised from nothingness to prominence.

 

Today, God is still raising people to the top places and positions of life. Even though God raises people, it is not everyone He raises. Who are the type of people God raises?

 

It is the humble, simple or lowly!

 

God only raises the humble and humbles the proud. He dethroned Nebuchadnezzar, Herod and Lucifer who lost their glorious destinies due to pride.

 

Beloved, if you must impact your generation, you must be humble; you must come to the point where you have nothing to boast and brag about except your dependence on God.

 

Being a vessel that God will use in your generation entails humbling yourself before God and letting Him know that without Him, you are nothing.

 

Remember this: God only raises the humble and humbles the proud.

THE REQUIREMENT FOR ANSWERED PRAYER

SCRIPTURE: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6.

 

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:  The consciousness of God fuels confidence and imparts audacity.

 

It is important to note that many people pray laboriously but few people see results of their prayers.

 

One reason many people pray but do not see results is because of their ignorance of a vital requirement for effective praying. Now, what is that vital requirement for answered prayer?

 

It is a consciousness of the reality of God.

 

The consciousness of God fuels confidence and imparts audacity. It was the consciousness of God that made Moses to return to the same Pharaoh whom he initially ran away from. Your degree of awareness of God determines the degree of your answers to prayers.

 

The LORD gave me a song some time ago which is centred on the consciousness of God’s Presence; I want you to meditate deeply on the lyrics of the chorus:

You are always there to help

You are always there to help me

Even when no one else was there

You are always there for me

Even when I can’t feel You

Even when I cannot trace You

I still have faith in Your Word

That You are always there for me

 

I decree the consciousness of God’s Presence in your life in Jesus’ Name.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It takes discovery to attain recovery.

 

It has been confirmed that success in life is a product of responsibility; a sense of duty on your assignment is the pathway to greatness in life. You need a sense of purpose in order not to leave this world as a failure. You must determine that whatever it takes to succeed, you will give it.

 

You must understand that it takes a warring spirit to succeed in life. No one will fight your battles for you; you must war with the devil to secure your destiny. If a strange woman is after your husband, for instance, you must fight the battle on your knees and take back your husband. It is a better way to fight than confronting her physically.

 

It takes discovery to attain recovery. Discover the purpose for which you are alive; discover your strength and you will recover that which the enemy has stolen from you. David discovered his strength (lion and bear killing) and that helped him put away the shame before Israel, by killing Goliath.

 

Every human being has a certain strength. Discovering yours will strengthen you to war against the devil more efficiently and effectively.

 

Remember this: It takes discovery to attain recovery.

1. Always remember that the devil is a defeated foe waiting to be bound in hell. So, fight from a victory point of view.

Behind the wheel of a burning dump truck, Michael Bridges cried out, "Jesus, get me out of here!"

Looking back at that miraculous moment that happened last year, 61-year-old Bridges could not help but feel tremendously grateful to God for quickly responding to his call for help and saving him.

Bridges said he was driving along northbound in Apopka, Florida on Aug. 4, 2016 when his tire blew out, sending his vehicle careening across the other side of the road into oncoming traffic, ClickOrlando reported.

He did manage to evade the oncoming cars but could not stop his truck from crashing into the grass. The vehicle immediately caught fire.

Bridges was trapped. Seeing the flames about to engulf him, he said the only thing he could think of was Jesus."Usually when you're hurt, you call your momma, like if you fall out of a tree or off your bike, but this time I called for Jesus Christ," Bridges told News6 WKMG. "I said 'God, don't let me die like this,' and when I said that, this guy opened the door to the truck."

CREATED TO BE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GOD

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: One of the greatest privileges on earth is the privilege of being used by God.

 

The primary reason God created us is to fulfil His purpose on earth by establishing His Dominion, Rulership and Authority on the earth according to our anchor scripture. One of the greatest privileges on earth is the privilege of being used by God. It is exciting to partner with God to fulfil His purpose on earth. So, fulfilling God’s purpose is a privilege. 

 

God wants His children to represent Him and take the topmost positions in the government, politics, industry, ministry, etc. in order to enforce His agenda on earth.

 

Therefore, it is not God’s Will for us to live for ourselves without pursuing Divine agenda on earth, but to live a life that is beneficial to both Heaven and earth. We were created to be in Divine partnership or alliance with God to fulfil His mandate on earth. 

 

Beloved, your role in this Divine partnership is to make up your mind and take the responsibilities of fulfilling God’s purpose. Pay the price to stand out for God like Mary, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego and Esther. Represent God in any place you find yourself. Do not be a disgrace to the Kingdom. 

 

Remember this: One of the greatest privileges on earth is the privilege of being used by God.

PROFITING FROM THE WORD

SCRIPTURE: Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. Psalm 119:18.

 

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God’s Word works for those who work it.

 

God’s intention for giving us His Word is to make us benefit from it. All that we need in life to be everything God created us to be is in God’s Word. Therefore, studying God’s Word to know what is written is very important.

 

Now, how do we derive Divine benefits from the Word of God?

1. Pray for the light of God’s Word: When Jesus opened the book, He located the place where the Word concerning Him was written in the Bible (Luke 4:17-18). There are things our physical eyes cannot see from God’s Word until our spiritual eyes have been opened through prayer. It takes prayer to see light from God’s Word. 

 

2. Act on the Word: God’s Word works for those who work it. Do not just look for Scripture to quote but to act on. In 2 Kings 5:14, when Naaman agreed to act on the Word, he was healed. It is the doing of the Word that produces results (Luke 5:4-6). 

 

Beloved, act on the revealed Word. When you find the Word on a particular subject, practice it by doing what it says.

 

Remember this: God’s Word works for those who work it.

 

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Pray for the revelation of God’s Word before you study it.

2. Act on every revealed Word in your spirit.

KEYS TO PRAYING EFFECTIVELY

SCRIPTURE: Always keep on praying. 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 (TLB)

 

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer creates the atmosphere of God’s Presence around a person’s life.

 

Prayer connects a man with his Maker. Prayer creates the atmosphere of God’s Presence around a person’s life. This means that to neglect prayer is to be empty of God’s Presence.

 

Now, I would like you to know two key truths to praying effectively:

1. The school of prayer is the only school that is open for all at all times. It is also a school where there is continuous promotion without graduation.

This means that you can pray anytime and anywhere; you can pray while driving, in the bathroom, kitchen, in the airplane, and even in the ocean. You can also pray in a standing, sitting, kneeling or lying position. There is continuous promotion in the school of prayer, because, as you pray, you will continue to experience momentum and see astounding results. 

 

2.It is possible to pray too little, but is never possible to pray too much because there is never a wasted prayer. 

In our anchor scripture, Apostle Paul admonishes us to pray without ceasing. The only thing we actually do without ceasing is breathing. It means we have to pray as frequently as we breathe. 

 

Remember this: Prayer creates the atmosphere of God’s Presence around a person’s life.

 

ASSIGNMENT (S):

1. Make up your mind to pray at all times and anywhere you find yourself.

2. Ask God for the grace to embark on periodic fasts that will deepen your prayer life.

I see the rise of a new breed of people. A people strong and mighty. A people who will shake the status quo. A people that will provide Bible based answers to malignant generational questions. 

A people that will invade the religious, political, business and academic realms with a sound understanding of ambassadorial mandate and mindset. A people that will terrorize witches, cast out devils, slap poverty with massive resources yet maintaining spiritual tempo. A people that will transact on terrestrial platform with celestial codes. A people that will send charlatans, soothsayers and suited herbalist out of business. 

A people whose sole passion is to retrieve the kingdoms of their God from commercialization and bastardization. A people with a zero tolerance for iniquity and compromise. A people with a consciousness of kingdom. A people with a sense of urgency. They are coming!

PREVAILING IN PRAYER

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer can change your life and destiny.

Prayer is an indispensable weapon in the hand of every prevailing Christian. This is because in order to win the battles of life, one must be connected to God through prayer.

It was prayer that changed the life and destiny of Jacob; He persisted in prayer until he prevailed with God.

It is important to know who Jacob was before the power of prayer changed his life:

Jacob was a man of continuous struggle and strife: He started his struggles from the womb (Genesis 25:22). He struggled to get his brother’s birth right and ran to Laban, his uncle to continue a life of struggles. He paid a bride price of 14 years’ hard labour and His wages was changed ten times.

He was also a victim of threat and intimidation:  Esau intended to kill him because he took his birth right. That was the reason his mother sent him away to Laban.  On his way to meet him after many years, he was afraid because a death sentence was on him, but prayer changed his life and caused him to prevail.

Beloved, I prophesy to you, as you become diligent in prayer, God shall bring change and transformation to your life and destiny in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Prayer can change your life and destiny.

THE LIFE THAT FORBIDS AFFLICTION

SCRIPTURE: ‘…I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.’ Exodus 15:26.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There can be no carryover disease or affliction from your past life into your new life in Christ.
The children of Israel suffered in Egypt for a period of 430 years under the bondage of the Egyptians. God sent Moses, who through the Power of God, plagued Egypt with afflictions until the Israelites were set free.
Spiritually, Egypt stands for the world system. Therefore, if you have left ‘Egypt’ by handing your life to Jesus, you cannot be a victim of the diseases of Egypt.
The implication of that is, if someone gets infected with HIV/ AIDS while in the world but gets saved by surrendering his life to Christ, that disease of Egypt (the world) has lost its power over such a person. This is because when a man is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things (including sin, affliction, sickness and disease) have passed away (2 Cor. 5:7).
There can be no carryover disease or affliction from your past life into your new life in Christ.
Beloved, maybe there is an ancestral curse in your family. If you are genuinely born again, the power of that curse is broken from your life.
By the apostolic mantle over my life, I curse every ancestral curse over your life, in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: There can be no carryover disease or affliction from your past life into your new life in Christ.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY OF SEARCHING THE WORD

SCRIPTURE: Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. John 5:39

 

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There is no victory for the lazy Christian.

 

A young man was always being afflicted by nightmares anytime he slept. He decided to search through the scripture and one day, he located a Word in the Bible: ‘…for so he giveth his beloved sleep’ (Psalm 127:2b). Immediately, light from this Scripture flooded his spirit and he declared to himself, ‘From today, I receive the sleep that God gives.’ From that moment, the darkness of nightmares disappeared. 

 

Beloved, there is something you will see in the Word of God that will give you the answer to the challenges of your life. The revealed Word of God is the answer to any challenge of life. 

 

There is a Word that has been sent to handle every negative situation of your life (Isaiah 55:11, Jeremiah 15:16) and you ought to search for it. The reason many people are afflicted in this generation is lazy attitude towards God’s Word. 

 

The early Christians searched the scriptures also by themselves (Acts 17:11) but nowadays, we have delegated Bible study to pastors. You have the responsibility to search the Scriptures and locate what God said concerning your life and destiny. There is no victory for the lazy Christian. So, determine to be a studious Christian.

GOD’S WEAPONS OF WAR

SCRIPTURE: Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms; And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider. Jeremiah 51:20-21.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The right mentality is key to victorious living on earth.

It can be deduced from our anchor scripture that there is war. Whether you are interested in fighting or not, there is a war. Life is warfare and not a funfair. Having the right mentality is key to victorious living on earth. To be victorious on earth, you must be battle-ready always.

Also from the above scripture, we understand that a genuine child of God is God’s weapon of war. 

Beloved, you are God’s artillery; His General purpose machine gun and grenades; you are the Intercontinental ballistic missiles and the Jet bombers He has decided to use to fight the enemy. 

When the Philistines confronted the Israelites in battle, the armour of Saul could not work until a human weapon in the person of David emerged (1 Samuel 17). God has never had problems with dealing with the devil; rather, He has always been concerned with the availability of human weapons of war.

Goliath was a threat to the Israelites until the right weapon (David) emerged. 

Beloved, if you can allow God to make you the right weapon of war, there is no devil or negative situation of life that you cannot surmount.

Remember: The right mentality is key to victorious living on earth.

3. The elimination of affliction.

4. The elevation of status- God cannot meet you and leave you in the same level you were before; there must be an upward shift in status.

5. The release of supernatural provision and supplies.

HOW GOD VISITS HIS PEOPLE:

1. Through His word - I Samuel 3:21; John 1:1.

2. Through the ministry of His prophet or His servants - Exodus 3:9-10.

3. Through revelatory encounters - dreams, trances and angelic visitations.

KEYS TO DIVINE VISITATION:

1. A desperate cry for divine encounter.

2. A solid covenant walk with God, there is no covenant without sacrifice – Psalms 50:5.

PRAYERS:

1. Father, we ask for the help of the Holy Spirit at the place of prayer, help us to pray effectively and fervently in Jesus name- Romans 8:26.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be depressed is to be detained in the negative situations of life.

 

It has been established from our anchor Scripture that praise is therapeutic and joy is medicinal. We need to be permanently joyful in order to fulfill the purpose of God for our lives. According to our anchor scripture, a merry heart is key to a cheerful life.

 

Now, why do we need to remain permanently joyful?

Joy destroys bondage: Joy brings people out of captivity. Excitement is your exit out of every negative condition of life. Paul and Silas were locked up in prison and they refused to be depressed. They were excited, they sang and praised God, then, the prison opened, and they came out (Acts 16:20-26). 

 

Beloved, to be depressed is to be detained in the negative situations of life. You will be detained where the devil has kept you all these years if you agree to be depressed. The young girl who is depressed about not being married will remain in that condition until she changes her attitude. The young man who is depressed about not having a job will remain in that state until he changes his attitude. A change of attitude is a change of altitude.

 

Remember this: To be depressed is to be detained in the negative situations of life.

 

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Create a consistent atmosphere of joy and excitement around your life.

2. Engage in the activities that bring joy, like praise and worship, prayer and the study of God’s Word.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Living as though you are not important to your world is a sign that you are wasting your life.

 

Being relevant in life is God’s purpose for His people. God’s intension is for His children to be significant in their generation. Therefore, living as though you are not important to your world is a sign that you are wasting your life.

 

From our anchor scripture, we can see that in order to be relevant in your generation, you need high mental soundness and agility. 

 

You are created in the image of God and everywhere you find yourself, know that you are meant to reason like the image of God. 

 

It is an abomination, therefore, to receive a query at your place of work for poor performance. The wisdom of God makes you to be preferred to others at your place of work. Daniel was preferred to all other wise men in Babylon because of his wisdom. He was relevant in the reign of four kings.

 

You can make your presence felt by proving your relevance and this can be achieved by thorough mental exercise.

 

Mental exercise is the key to a life of excellence. Never feel that you know too much. 

 

Exercise your mind, learn new things daily, improve yourself and your relevance cannot be denied.

MAINTAINING VISION FOR THE NEXT LEVEL

SCRIPTURE: And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it… Genesis 13:14-15.

 

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot move from where you are until you look away from where you are.

 

It has been established that fulfilling destiny entails battles and conquests. One of the demonic strategies in resisting destiny fulfilment is the spell of visionlessness that he casts on God’s people. Many people have fixed their eyes on where they are, instead of where they can be. God’s plan is that you look at where you are going and look away from where you are at the moment.

 

It is not possible to move from where you are until you look away from where you are. Those who go far see far. Where you are going should become the major preoccupation of your mind. If you are not married yet, begin to see your husband or wife. If you are not currently employed, begin to see yourself working. When you look at where you are, all that happens is that you become frustrated and depressed in life. That is why you must look away from where you are.

 

Beloved, look away from that predicament now: that unemployment, barrenness, singleness, lack, etc., and realise that they are not your resting place. If you focus on them, you will be frustrated and destroyed.

 

Remember this: You cannot move from where you are until you look away from where you are.

• Fasting impacts the spirit of might.
