SEEKING GOD FROM THE HEART
SCRIPTURE: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. – Matthew 6:33.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you seek God for who He is, He will show you His Hand.
We are admonished from our anchor scripture to seek first the
Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This is the key to getting other
good things in life.
Why is it important to seek God wholeheartedly? Those who look for
things never come to the end of struggles in life but those who look for
God do not struggle for things. There are people whose prayer
vocabulary is filled with ‘God, give me this, give me that’ and nothing
like, ‘God, I want to know You more, draw me closer to You.’
If you seek first the Kingdom of God, all the good things of life
that the Gentiles struggle for will be added to you. If you seek God for
Who He is, He will show you His Hand.
Seeking God because of what He can do for you is like a lady marrying a man because he is rich and not because of who he is.
Beloved, seek God because of Who He is; seek Him from your heart.
Let the passion for God drive you to His Presence, rather than what He
can do for you.
Remember this: If you seek God for who He is, He will show you His Hand.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Develop a permanent consciousness of God’s Presence in your life.
2. Look for responsibilities to carry out from the Scripture and not just promises to claim.
