THE BLESSING OF THE WORD OF GOD
Overview
SCRIPTURE: Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of
sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of
the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. – Psalms 1:1-2 (NIV).
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Word of God is the Container of the Blessing of God.
The Word of God is the Container of the Blessing of God. God’s
Blessing is packaged in His Word. Therefore, studying and obeying God’s
Word is to access the Blessing of God. According to our anchor
scripture, the man who delights in God’s Word is blessed.
Now, how does God’s Word bless the people of God?
The Word of God imparts power to break curses and limitations (Psalm 107:20).
How, then, does the Word break curses and limitations?
1) The Word counteracts satanic spells and limitations (1 John 3:8).
2) The Word of God empowers man to overcome limitations and resistances.
In Abraham’s family, there were various negative trends that
limited their progress: failure, living without relevance, premature
death, near-success syndrome, etc. But when God spoke to Abraham, His
Word brought Abraham out of these limitations.
Now, what are the secrets of the Blessing from the Word of God?
1) Encounter with the Word of God (Galatians 2:2).
2) Obedience to the Word of God (Deuteronomy 28:1). This includes
obedience in lifestyle, Kingdom service and financial practices.
Beloved, treasure God’s Word above everything; to neglect the word is to be limited in life.
Remember this: The Word of God is the container of the Blessing of God.
