THE DECEITFULNESS OF LUST
SCRIPTURE: That ye put off
concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt
according to the deceitful lusts. Ephesians 4:22
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Placing profit above pleasure is what guarantees a future both on earth and in eternity.
Lust is a strong and an uncontrolled desire to have someone or something. Lust is also the craving for the forbidden.
The craving for that which is forbidden is highly deceitful. It may
appear beautiful but it is the highway to disaster. It may promise you
something good but end you in a mess.
A bad apple fruit may look ripe but inside it, are worms; it may
taste sweet but it has the capacity to set your teeth on edge. It will
promise you good but end you in a mess.
The flesh is the major tool for lust. It may say to you, ‘If you
drink a little alcohol you will feel nice; if you have immorality with
that person you are not married to, you will enjoy it’. The truth is,
the flesh will display to you the immediate and transient gratification
and cover up the ultimate, colossal, monumental and irrecoverable loss.
Beloved, in order to reach where God wants you to reach in life,
you must subject your body to a firm control. Placing profit above
pleasure is what guarantees a future both on earth and in eternity.
Today, I arrest every spirit of lust in your life, in Jesus’ Name.
Remember This: Placing profit above pleasure is what guarantees a future both on earth and in eternity.
