MIRACLES IN THE DEEP

SCRIPTURE: Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught…And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. Luke 5:4-6

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The end of human effort is the beginning of Divine input.

As a Christian, there are miracles and realms of supernatural supply that you may never encounter until you go deeper into God. As long as you hang around the surface in your relationship with God, the results you will see are superficial miracles. Solid miracles are found in the depth of God.

The anchor Scripture reveals that the fishermen were washing their nets because they had toiled all night and caught nothing; their labour produced no yield. But when Jesus saw their situation, He told Peter to launch out their nets into the DEEP for a catch and as they obeyed, their nets brake.

Beloved, there is an extent you cannot reach in life except you press deeply into God. There is a limit to human expertise, wisdom, connection and effort. The end of human effort is the beginning of Divine input. Where man ends, God starts.  When you are at the end of your own struggle, then, the stage is set for God to manifest.

It is time to leave the periphery and press deeply into God. Surrender your will to God and let Him do His Will in your life.

Remember this: The end of human effort is the beginning of divine input.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Consistently ask God about what He wants you to do and be ready to obey Him.
2. Go deeper in the study of the Word, prayers, evangelism and in your sacrifice to God.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask that You take me into a deeper walk with You. I refuse to be a superficial Christian. I am ready to obey Your instructions henceforth, in Jesus’ Name.

THE SEAL OF DISTINCTION

SCRIPTURE: And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Luke 1:28
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Any man who stands out is allocated authority over his contemporaries.
It is possible for people to live in the same environment and have different level of attainments in life. Siblings of the same conception may end in different destinations. For instance, Jacob and Esau were products of the same conception, yet they ended differently in life and destiny. While Esau’s memory is nowhere to be found on earth today, Jacob’s descendants constitutes one of the most notable nations on earth called Israel.
Mary was not the only virgin in Israel in her time but she was chosen to birth our Lord Jesus by the seal of distinction.
The seal of distinction equals existence with a difference; it is existing in a class of your own. It is well known that the two groups of people in this world are; the best of them and the rest of them.
The seal of distinction gives a man authority and influence in life.  When you have distinction, you become an authority figure. Any man who stands out is allocated authority over his contemporaries.
A major key to distinction is the fear of God. To fear God is to fare well and go far in life.
Remember this: Any man who stands out is allocated authority over his contemporaries.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Ask God to place a seal of distinction on you.
2. Be humble.
PRAYER: O LORD, I receive the seal of distinction on my life today. I ask for the grace to stand out among my contemporaries in Jesus’ Name.

THE MYSTERY OF FAITH

SCRIPTURE: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.’ Hebrews 11:6

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Faith is seeing the invisible, doing the incredible and experiencing the impossible.

Faith is a great spiritual mystery that the natural man cannot understand. The mystery of faith is key to victory in life. It takes the mystery of faith to handle the miseries of life.

What is faith?
1. Faith is standing on the Living Word to confirm confidence in the Living God in order to become a living proof. People of faith are doers of the Word.
2. Faith is seeing the invisible, doing the incredible and experiencing the impossible. This means, studying your Bible and seeing revelations beyond human comprehension, doing things beyond human ability and having experiences beyond the natural order.

Facts about faith.
1. Faith is not acting blindly, hoping that something works out. Faith is acting based on strong revelation and confidence in the Word of God.
2. Faith is a responsibility (James 2:17). Men of faith are spiritually hard workers, spiritually diligent and very studious in Scriptures.
3. Faith is a spiritual lift with which spiritual levels are changed. The life of heaven on earth is possible by faith.

I decree today, by faith, your level is changing. You are accessing the heavenly realms in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Faith is seeing the invisible, doing the incredible and experiencing the impossible.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Build your faith through studying and believing the Word of God.
2. Constantly make faith declarations concerning your life.

FORGIVENESS - A KEY TO ANSWERED PRAYERS

SCRIPTURE: And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:25-26

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To forgive is to give at a high level.

It is not enough to only know how to pray; it is important to know how to pray with the right keys. You can only open a door when you have access to the right keys.

The heart of forgiveness is one of the major keys to answered prayers. The anchor Scripture admonishes us to forgive others while praying. This means that your prayer is useless until you forgive others.

Un-forgiveness is one of the worst attacks on spirituality. Whenever the devil wants to deprive you, he will send people to offend you. If you must have access to God at the place of prayer, then, completely deal with the spirit of un-forgiveness.

To forgive means to give up resentment and bitterness. To forgive is to give at a high level; whatever a man sows, he reaps.

Now, how do you forgive?
1. Receive grace from the Throne of grace to forgive: Release the offender in God’s Presence (Hebrews 4:16).
2. Refuse to continuously bring up the past (Philippians 3:10).
3. Pray for your offenders: It is more productive than praying against them.
4. Focus your mind on God’s Plan for your life.

Remember this: To forgive is to give at a high level.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Go through today’s study again.
2. Ensure to always forgive your offenders at the place of prayer.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask for the grace to forgive my offenders. I look forward to the great future that You have prepared for me in Jesus’ Name.

THE POWER OF PRAISE

SCRIPTURE: But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him. 2 Kings 3:15

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The release of praise is the release of His Voice.

It is a clear fact that praise/worship to God is an important part of the life of every child of God.

From the anchor scripture, there are two effects that praise and worship have on the life of a believer.

1. Praise releases the Hand of God upon the life of a person:
When praise goes up, the Hand of God is stretched forth (1 Kings 18:45). The Hand of the Lord is the reason for supernatural and extra-ordinary strength and stamina. It is also the reason for extra-ordinary feats and accomplishment.

2. The release of praise is the release of God’s Voice:
When praise was released, Elisha’s ear opened and he began to prophesy (2 Kings 3:15). If you need the Voice of God, you must release praise and worship to God. The Voice of God is a container of extra-ordinary power. If the devil wants to disconnect you from the Voice of God, he will baptize you with the spirit of heaviness, murmuring, grumbling and complaining.

My counsel is, guard your praise life jealously to avoid the interference of the enemy.

Remember this: The release of praise is the release of His Voice.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Make praise and worship a part of your daily schedule.
2. Praise God at all times, even when you do not feel like it.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask for the grace to forgive my offenders. I refuse to be distracted by offenses and offenders. I look forward to seeing the great future that You have prepared for me, in Jesus' Name.

FIGHTING AND WINNING THE FIGHT OF FAITH

SCRIPTURE: Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When your Word comes, your war ends.

It is very clear that every child of God engages in one form of fight or the other in the journey of faith. Whether you are interested or not, the fight is on.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 says, For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: So there is war.

We are in a fight because we were made in the image of God. So, satan being the enemy of the Kingdom of God is also your enemy. It is the nature of the devil to cause havoc. He hates tranquillity. But we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).

The fight of faith is an attack on your belief in God. It is also the battle between the lie of the devil and the promises of God to you.

Beloved, one major weapon in fighting the enemy is the revelation of the Word of God (John 1:5). When Joseph’s Word came, his imprisonment ended (Psalm 105:19-22). Nothing disarms darkness like light. You need to be loaded with the Word of God before the battle arrives. Light is the answer to reproach, shame and disgrace. When your Word comes, your war ends.

Remember this: When your Word comes, your war ends.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Engage in the search for scriptural light from the Bible on a daily basis.
2. Do not relent in the fight against the enemy.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE BIRTH OF CHRIST

SCRIPTURE: Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. Matthew 2:1-2.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: No devil can find what God has hidden.

The Christmas season is a time when we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is very important to know the mystery and full implication of the Power surrounding His birth in order to connect to the same Power.

Reflections of the Power of the birth of Christ.
1.The power of unnatural conception: Jesus’s birth bypassed the natural process of conception. That demonstrated the supremacy of the Divine order over the natural. It was an undisputable display of the superiority of supernatural laws over the natural law of intercourse before conception.

Anytime you are at a juncture of life where a natural law is trying to clash with spiritual laws, understand that the natural must give way to the supernatural. The physical must give way to the Divine.

2.The power of surprise for the devil: Herod looked for the baby Jesus to kill, but he could not find Him. No devil can find what God has hidden.

Just as the devil could not locate Jesus nor destroy Him in the womb, I decree that God is going to do something in your life that will take the devil by surprise in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: No devil can find what God has hidden.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Take out time to sincerely appreciate Jesus for accepting to come from heaven to the earth to die for your sins.
2. Show love to someone by giving out gifts and celebrate with them in this season of love.

PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT

SCRIPTURE: But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The frequency of the Holy Spirit is the frequency of mysteries; and mysteries refer to hidden secrets.

The Holy Spirit is an invaluable asset in our journey of life and destiny. The frequency of the Holy Spirit is the frequency of mysteries; and mysteries refer to hidden secrets. Every secret you need to know is with the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 14:2).

Anyone who prays abundantly in the Spirit will be a man or woman whose mind is permanently saturated with things to do for God. Such a person has access to the hidden secrets of God.

What happens when we pray in the Spirit?
1.The Holy Spirit connects us with the Mind of God: He helps us to know God’s perspectives about us (1 Corinthians 2:11). When you pray in the Spirit, He begins to saturate, infiltrate, and permeate your mentality either with pictures or voices pertaining to your life and destiny.

2.The Holy Spirit illuminates Scriptures and helps us to see clearly what the Word of God is saying: As you open the pages of the Bible, all of a sudden, scriptures begin to leap at you, and you begin to hear His Voice from the pages of the Scripture.

Remember this: The frequency of the Holy Spirit is the frequency of mysteries; and mysteries refer to hidden secrets.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Ensure you pray abundantly in the Spirit daily.
2. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see hidden secrets as you study the Word of God.

PRAYER: O LORD, I receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit today. As I pray, I receive light and revelation in Jesus’ Name.

FEAR NOT

SCRIPTURE: For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came. Job 3:25-26

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Faith is the capital requirement for victory in life’s battles.

It is clear from the anchor scripture that fear is one of the most destructive weapons of satan apart from sin. Fear actually precedes most satanic destructive agendas and attacks. One thing fear does is to destroy faith and deflate one’s confidence in God.
The Bible says ‘…your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour’ (1 Peter 5:8).
It is known that the lion roars to instil fear in its prey and by so doing, it destroys their boldness and confidence, paralyses their motion and catches them cheaply.

Beloved, the cure for fear is faith.  Faith is the capital requirement for victory in life’s battles (1 John 5:4). The presence of fear is the absence of faith, and the absence of faith is the guarantee of defeat.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH FEAR?
1. Aggressively feed your spirit with faith-provoking and fear-destroying insights from the Word of God.
2. Remain permanently in His Presence; live a life of prayer and fasting (Psalms 23:3-4).
3. You must avoid the way of sin and unrighteousness.
4. Refuse to entertain fear-provoking suggestions from the enemy.

Remember this: Faith is the capital requirement for victory in life’s battles.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Constantly discard every negative and dangerous thought from your mind at all times.
2. Always make positive declarations concerning your life.

How Would Jesus Celebrate Christmas?

How Would Jesus Celebrate Christmas?

Most years I tend to lose sight of Jesus somewhere between the deals of Black Friday and the dawn of a new year. Of course I understand that Jesus is the real reason for the season, but the frantic pace I usually set to celebrate Christmas isn't very conducive to focusing on Him. Between Santa and jingle bells, Christmas parties, and presents to buy and hope for, I think most of us struggle to keep our attention focused on the baby in the miracle we're supposed to be celebrating.

As I fight to carve out the time to consider the sacred, I keep wondering how Jesus would celebrate His birth.
It's true that Christmas is a holiday created by the church long after Jesus ascended into heaven. He never had the chance to partake in Christmas as we know it. Even so, Christ's example is always a lead we should follow.
If Jesus were still walking the earth, what would He be doing this Christmas? Here's my best guess.

Jesus Would Celebrate Christmas

There are many places throughout the Gospels that record Jesus participating in the holidays of His culture. He ate holiday feasts with His family and friends (Matt. 26:18–19). John 7 shows Him attending church with His brothers during the Festival of the Tabernacle.
Jesus wasn't a stick-His-head-in-the-sand kind of guy. He didn't sequester himself away from His culture. While there are plenty of elements of our traditional Christmas celebrations that don't focus on Him, I doubt Jesus would ask us to ditch the entire celebration based on principle. (That's throwing the miracle baby out with the bath water.) I believe He would join us at our church Christmas pageants and family dinners and would accept an invitation to step into our decorated homes.

Jesus Wouldn't Focus on Presents

Jesus wasn't into stuff.
In Matthew 6:19, He said, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal."
In Luke 12:15, He said, "Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
Jesus never said possessions are bad. I don't see any evidence in Scripture that He would say giving each other gifts is wrong. But He did warn us that our stuff isn't as important as we think it is. This anti-materialism message is certainly worth revisiting at Christmastime.

Nigerian churches criticised for not helping persecuted north

Nigerian churches criticised for not helping persecuted north

Baroness Cox: there's 'a disconnect at every level' between southern and northern Nigerian churches

Christians in the south of Nigeria are failing to help their persecuted compatriots in the north, according to a veteran humanitarian campaigner.

British peer, Baroness Caroline Cox, who has made numerous aid missions to the country, including a recent trip, told World Watch Monitor: “My personal view is that many of those churches are immensely wealthy and I would hope they could do more to help those who are suffering in the north, particularly the internally displaced people who are left.”
“They could work with churches [in the north] who know the needs to reach those most in need.
“From a Christian point of view, St Paul said that where one part of the Body of Christ suffers, we all suffer. There is an obligation to help our Christian brothers and sisters.”
The seven-year Islamist rebellion has left 20,000 people dead and about 2.6 million displaced across the four countries. Many families have been displaced several times.
Lady Cox said that southern churches sent occasional consignments of aid, but a tribal rather than national outlook often prevailed resulting in a “disconnect at every level” between Christians in the north and those in the south.
Church leaders in northern Nigeria have previously told World Watch Monitor that they do not have the resources to care for the children orphaned by Islamist militia attacks.
Lady Cox also voiced concern that the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari is failing to adequately respond to the increasingly frequent attacks by groups of armed Fulani herdsmen on Christian villages and leaders in the country’s Middle Belt. She suggested that the lack of “robust reprisals” could be linked to him being Fulani.

THERE IS POWER IN PRAYER

SCRIPTURE: Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you are in agreement with the God that cannot be defeated, then you are indefatigable.

Prayer is a major secret of power. Paul the Apostle was a man of intense prayer; so, tremendous power was at his disposal, to the extent that handkerchiefs from his body healed the sick (Acts 19:12-13). That was why he said in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Pray without ceasing.

Prayerlessness is the major reason for the powerlessness of this generation. A prayer-less Christian is a powerless Christian. If there can be a revival of prayer in your life, there will be a revival of power.

How then does prayer produce power?
1. Prayer positions a person in the courts of God (1 Kings 17:1). It gives you a stand before God, and to stand with God is to stand in power.
2. Prayer brings a person into partnership with God for the establishment of the Will of God on earth (Ezekiel 22:30). When you are in agreement with the God that cannot be defeated, then you are indefatigable.
3. Prayer positions a person as a Kingdom representative on earth. When you are a man of prayer, you are licensed to speak and act on behalf of God and His Kingdom.

Remember this: When you are in agreement with the God that cannot be defeated, then you are indefatigable.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Be consistent in your prayer walk with God.
2. Treasure the Presence of God above everything else.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask for the grace to be a person of prayer. Help me, LORD, to maintain a right standing with You, in Jesus Name.

ANOINTED BY COMMITMENT

SCRIPTURE: I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him: With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him. Psalm 89:20-21

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your commitment to God is what determines God’s commitment to you.

From our anchor scripture, we see that the Anointing of God is always in search of the committed. While other people look for the Anointing, the Anointing looks for the committed.

The ‘committed’ here refers not only to men of God but to every man and woman donated to the service of God and His Kingdom. They become natural candidates for the Anointing of God.

Your commitment to God determines your fulfilment both in time and in eternity. David, for instance, was a fulfilled man in every way. The Bible records in Acts 13:36 that David died after he had fulfilled his life’s assignment.

Proverbs 18:24 says, a man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. His Name is Jesus. So, if you show yourself friendly enough to God, you will court the friendship of God.

The truth is, God is more committed to some people than to others. People are at different levels of relationship with God. Your commitment to God is what determines God’s commitment to you. So, your commitment to God must be examined both in time and eternity.

Remember this: Your commitment to God is what determines God’s commitment to you.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Make up your mind to be more committed in your prayer life and in the study of the Word of God.
2. Be committed to your Kingdom assignment.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask that You draw me closer to Yourself. I pledge to be totally committed to You in Jesus’ Name.
