TOPIC: FASTING WITH UNDERSTANDING

TEXT: MATTHEW 6:17-18

THINGS_TO_NOTE:

1. Fasting is not an optional agenda of the Christian, fasting is a mandatory responsibility of a child of God

2. Fasting is not for the creation of impression before men but for the giving of strong expression to your most intense desires before God.

• Any fasting to make people celebrate you is a waste.

3. Fasting embarked upon correctly, attracts open Divine rewards

EXPECTED REWARDS FROM FASTING:

1. Spiritual empowerment (Luke 4:1-3,14; Matt. 17:21)

• You can’t fast well and remain in the same power level

• When you fast, your level of command changes.

2. Spiritual ‘enmightment’ (Isa. 40:31)

• Fasting impacts the spirit of might.

• Fasting increases Spiritual resilience.

3. Prophecy enforcement (1 Tim. 1:18; Dan. 9:1-4)

• Prophecy don’t fulfill themselves, prophecy must be prayed, fasted  or warred into fulfillment.

• Prophecies don’t fulfill themselves because the devil fights prophecy.

4. Divine enlightenment (Isa. 58:6,8)

• Determine to become a light hunter in the course of this fast.

5. Life and destiny fulfillment (Esth.4:16; Deu. 29:29; Acts 27:33-34)

• Fasting assists in the fulfillment of days.

• To fast is to last (Esth. 4:16).

• Your fast frustrate the agenda of the enemy.

• Revelation determines manifestation (Deu. 29:29).

KEYS TO RECEIVING EXPECTED REWARDS FROM FASTING:

1. Pray desperately and fervently (Jam. 5:16)

2. Redeem the time

• Don’t just count the days, make the days count; Don’t count the hours, make the hours count.

• Make every passing hour have something to account for.

#PRAYER:

- Father, I ask for spiritual empowerment in the course of this fast. Let my level of command change this year, Lord in Jesus’ Name (Luke 4:14; Matt. 17:21)

- Father, I ask for supernatural ‘enmightment’ in the course of this fast. Help me Lord with increased supernatural strength and might to overcome resistance in 2017, Lord is Jesus’ Name (Isaiah 40:31)

- Father, I demand for the enforcement of the prophecy, ‘DIVINE PROOFS’ in my life in 2017 in Jesus’ Name. let every good Word spoken regarding my life and destiny be fulfilled this year in Jesus’ Name (1 Tim. 1:18; Joshua 21:45)

- Father, I demand for Divine enlightment in the course of this fast. Open my eyes Lord to see what I have not seen out of the Word before. Open my eyes also Lord to see in the Spirit (Isaiah 58:6-8)

- Father, I ask that by this fast, every schedule/plan of premature death programmed for me or my loved ones in 2017 be aborted in the Name of Jesus Christ (Psalm 79:11)

- Father, arise in Nigeria and let Your enemies be scattered. Let the agenda of the bondwoman be frustrated. Let Your plan ans will prosper in Nigeria, Oh! Lord in Jesus’ Name (Psalm 68:1-3)

- Father, send us Revival in our Nation like we have never seen before in the Name of Jesus Christ. Father, send us a Holy Ghost Revival to the Church, this church, to this Nation, and through this Nation to this generation, Lord in Jesus’ Name (Psalm 85:6)

- Father, this fasting must not leave me the same; while You are touching others Lord, touch me; give me testimonies Lord in Jesus’ Name

- Father, we thank You for answered prayers. To You be all the glory, Lord, in Jesus’ Name (1 John 5:14)
