PROFITING BY THE WORD OF GOD
SCRIPTURE: Till I come, give
attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine…Meditate upon these
things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to
all. 1 Timothy 4:13-15
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If a man is full of self, he will be empty of God.
The Word of God is calculated for the profit of man. It is targeted to add value to life and designed to handle losses.
The worth and value of a person has been programmed by God to be
increased and enhanced by the Word of God. The Word has the assignment
of raising the dignity and quality of people.
The plan of God is for His Word to bring you to the point where
people can notice change and progress in your life; a point where those
who knew how you were before could testify that there is undeniable
progress in your life, both spiritually and physically.
Therefore, to profit from the Word of God, you must lay aside all
filthiness. The Word of God is a seed and an unclean and filthy life is a
toxic ground for it to germinate. Also, determine to avoid every form
of pride and arrogance. If a man is full of self, he will be empty of
God.
Beloved, ensure you spend quality time with the Word of God in
order to have your spirit cleansed from all forms of iniquity and
filthiness.
Remember this: If a man is full of self, he will be empty of God.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Ensure to cleanse your heart from every form of filthiness so as to benefit from the Word of God.
2. Desist from every form of pride and arrogance; be humble.
PRAYER: O LORD, I ask for the grace to be
consistent in the study of Your Word. Cleanse me LORD, from every guilt
or sin that will hinder me from profiting from Your Word in Jesus’ Name.
